Tripco London is an independent art studio founded in 2021, with its home in Greenwich, London.

At the time, we were both twenty-two, working with a small collection of ideas and no real understanding of how far they would take us. What began with a few sketches of our favourite tarot cards: Wheel of Fortune, Death and The World, slowly opened the door to something much bigger.

Andrei began drawing while I studied the meanings and symbolism behind each card. Illustrations were drawn and redrawn as Andrei discovered his style, and I found myself returning with another detail or symbol that had suddenly revealed its importance.

We soon realised this would not be a collection made quickly. It was the beginning of a years-long project that would grow and change alongside us.

From the beginning, we wanted the illustrations to live beyond paper.

The idea of engraving them onto lighters came from equal parts practicality and instinct. At the time, we couldn’t afford to trademark our artwork, so placing the designs onto functional objects became a way of sharing and protecting them at once.

What began as a solution unexpectedly became the foundation of Tripco.

Soon afterwards, we introduced personalisation, and with it came something we could never have planned. Through the names, dates and messages entrusted to us, we found ourselves witnessing small fragments of people’s lives. Declarations of love, wedding gifts, encouragement before difficult moments, anniversaries, breakups, memorials and inside jokes understood by only two people.

Our objects have come to carry far more than our illustrations, and being trusted with these stories remains one of the most meaningful parts of what we do.

Every piece is produced in small batches, then engraved, personalised, polished and prepared in our studio. We are now a growing team of four, and each of us takes part in the creation, making, packing and sending of the objects that eventually find their way to you.

Tripco has grown beyond tarot, but tarot remains the door through which everything else entered.

Today, we are slowly expanding the forms our artwork can take. We find ourselves drawn to materials with weight, texture and the ability to age beautifully. Materials that allow an illustration to become something you can hold, use and keep close.

After years spent illustrating the Major Arcana, we have now begun the Minor Arcana which you will soon be able to see. The deck continues to grow alongside new objects, drawings and ideas, with every part of Tripco leading us a little further into this world.
